Why tile works in Southwest Florida
Tile doesn't rot or burn, and it holds its color for years in the Florida sun. A properly attached tile roof stands up well to high winds. Tile is heavier than other roofing, so the roof structure and how the tile is attached matter a lot.
Tile styles and materials
- Flat tile gives a clean, modern look and is common in newer communities.
- S tile and barrel tile give a classic Mediterranean look, often seen on Marco Island and in older Naples neighborhoods.
- Concrete or clay: clay usually holds its color longer and costs more, while concrete is heavier and costs less.
- Brands we install: Eagle, Westlake Royal and Crown, depending on the style you want and what your HOA allows.
How we install it
We attach tile with foam adhesive or mechanical fasteners, depending on your roof and wind zone. Underneath goes a sealed water barrier, which can also earn you a wind mitigation discount. We photograph the deck and underlayment before the tile goes on, so your inspector has proof.
HOA approval
Your HOA can set tile colors and styles, but it can't deny a code-compliant, hurricane-rated roof that meets its rules. We prepare the approval paperwork for you. Learn more in our tile and HOA guide.
